This New Year I’m talking all about Self-Care as a mum and how important it is to take that time for us. Every week I’ll be bringing you a new guest blog post with some top tips and hopefully throughout the next few months we’ll have put together an amazing list of different ideas for self-care.
This week is Michelle Dennison.
Tell us a bit about yourself - who you are, what you do and a bit about your family:
I am a mum to Ellie 13 years and Alfie 10 years. I am also a partner to their dad Stephen and we have been together for over 20 years. I have worked as a nurse in theatres for over 20 years now which I love but do find exhausting! In the last year I set up my own online health and wellness business with a 38 year old company called Arbonne.
What do you do for self-care as a mum and how do you make time for self-care?
I started my business as a way of doing something for myself. To improve myself through personal development and to enjoy beautiful, pure, safe and beneficial products for myself and my family. This has also widened my social network. My other hobby is singing. Singing is beneficial to health as it strengthens the immune system, lowers stress, improves posture, aids sleep, helps mental alertness and again widens my circle of friends. I also try and exercise and meditate whenever I can.
What are your three top tips for self-care for mums?
Make time to do the things you enjoy.
Get a good nights sleep.
Are there any products/businesses/podcasts ect that you would recommend for self-care?
Arbonne Rescue and Renew pamper set and a meditation app is good to have on your phone.
